Message: My twin brother was also taken at birth. At the time my grandmother was a 4th grade teacher and one of her students wrote this down on a card to give to our family. With a change in names it went like this:

"Emi never had to know what it was like to be afraid, because the first face that she saw, was Jesus"

My parents put it on my brothers tombstone. Hopefully it can give some peace to you as it did our family. God Bless

Message: I'm so sorry that I hadn't gotten in touch with you sooner! We were out of town. My heart broke for you last night when I heard the news! No one should have to go through what you are going through.

A few things that I have learned.. your darling Emi Kate will send you little signs here and there to let you know that they are watching (Eliza smiled at me for the first time on Carter's Birthday. She smiled all day that day! She was just a month old and didn't smile again for weeks.. where she learned to smile completely. I believe that was Carter smiling through her to tell us it's okay to be happy.) I've also learned that things like "she's in a better place" are just painful to hear and there is NO better place for a baby than with her mother. So if you need to cry or vent or yell.. please call me. I can listen and I can understand.

The first few weeks were full of such crushing pain that I didn't know how I was going to continue. So I held on to my family. Kali was my life-preserver. For her, I had to make it work. Hold on to your little Sophie! She'll be your ray of light and your unending supply of love. I wish I could do something to make it better. *HUG*

Lastly.. while it's cliche, it's true.. it will get easier. You'll never forget Emi Kate of course! But it won't twist your heart around so much to talk about her.

I'm sending my love and a hug. Please call me if you want to talk (or yell and scream because it's not fair)

Come Walk With Me

The Lord stretched out his hand and said,
�Please come and walk with me.�
Sweet little Emi didn't ask why, instead she said, �What will I see?�
The Lord replied, �It's hard to describe, mere words can not compare.�
�Please don't be afraid my little one, I'll keep you in my care.�
Little Emi Kate didn't know what to think,
and decided to take the Lord's hand.

He lead her into the gates of heaven and reassured her she'd always be safe.
He said to Emi, �Do not be sad, for this is a wondrous place.
You will always feel love, joy and peace, no pain or suffering are here.
I need you to stay close by my side, my sweet little Emi dear.�

�For you will be my special Angel, looking down upon those you love.
Trying to help them understand why you are now above.�
Emi Kate asked the man in white, why Mommy and Daddy didn't come.
The Lord replied in a gentle voice, �Some things can not be explained.�
Little Emi Kate smiled, a smile that no one had seen, and said;
�Lord I don't understand.�

The Lord replied, �I know my child, please know it will be alright.�
Emi Kate looked up and took his hand, and held it very tight.
The Lord and Little Emi Kate went for a walk...
they walked to heaven that night.

Dear Lord and Saviour keep little Emi Kate in your care now and forevermore.
We know there are others in heaven that will watch over her, and love her until you can
all one day be together in heaven.
Lord, we ask you to be with Mommy and Daddy and all the family and friends who have
gathered to say good-bye to this sweet child.
Help to ease their sorrow in knowing you have taken Emi Kate to Heaven's splendor
and that their little girl is safe and happy.
